I'm in Florida so a white winter is not going to happen easily for me but I will make it happen.

Double Header

I was pretty busy and had to wake up early the next day and I slacked on ' Favorite Food Fridays'. So I thought I include it in my "Case of The Mondays" post.

So today you get a double header. A Favorite Foods and A Case of the Mondays!!

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!!!

yummy, smooth, chocolaty goodness. Is there anything else to say about it? ummm I think not...
Well, unless you are lactose intolerant... Which I am, but I dont care, its still sooooo good!!

And todays "Case of the Mondays" is brought by school boards across America. I cant tell you how many posts and pictures have been posted today of my friends kids going to school. So to be part of the cool club, I had to send mine off too..

Waiting for the Rain to Past-- Mia 6 months - Gainesville Family Photography

When you think of a beach session you think. Blue sky's, sandy beach's, and a nice golden glow. Right?

Of Course, in all Kala trying to get some good photos fashion, nothing happens the way its suppose to. Down to just trying to get there I think I hit every light there was in the 5 towns I had to go through.

Picture it, (and I said 'picture it' like Sophia from the Golden girls) St Augustine FL, gorgeous perfect beach going weather with a nice breeze to keep from being to hot but not strong enough to be troublesome.

Then picture this.  Parking, getting everything ready to walk down to the beach, and then within 3 minutes, hurricane rain and wind with trees bowing and lighting striking every few seconds. Yes within about 3 to 5 minutes it went from a perfect day to HOLY S!#T.

Oh course my first thought was NOOOOOOOO. We drove for how long to get to the beach. And its not exactly like we can re-schedule a 6 month photo shoot when she is 8 months old. It just wasn't going to happen.

We decided to wait it out. Why not.

I'm glad we did. Granted, I didn't get the kind of shots that we were originally going for. But,  I was able to think outside the box and get some good ones and a nice variety.

The first part of the session was right at the visitors center where we ended up parking. We got lucky while we were there and it stopped raining enough for us to not get completely soaked (well, apart from me laying on the ground:-) and was just overcast enough to keep away crazy shadows.

And lets be honest. Lil Miss' smile and laughter can brighten up any ones days.

Here are a few of our improvised and lovely shoot in St Augustine.

Bunting- Alachua Family Photography

Have you ever heard the saying "The hardest person to photograph is someone in your family" I swear pets and family members run when a camera is around, doesn't smile, or will only give you about 1 minute.

I can assure you, this rains true with myself as well.

Over the weekend I had the pleasure... patience to shoot at my sisters.

She emailed about a week or so before hand that she wanted me to come over and shoot her boyfriend, Cameron, and his daughter Holly. Perfect timing because I was going to ask if I could come by and have them "model for me. Holly is a cutie pie and a angel to be around. And Can I say PHOTOGENIC. LOVE HER!!!

Kelli, my sister, lives on allot of land, so  I just picked a spot with a clearing and we played.
Well we actually kind of rushed. We only had a window of about 30 minutes since we had a late start and they had to get ready for a drive to the beach.

Here are a few of my favorites....trust me it was hard not to put just a bunch of outtakes. Cameron can make some really interesting faces when he is suppose to be smiling.

(as you will notice... I LOVE me some lens flare.. I normally don't use it very often but I'm slowly becoming obsessed)

And as always. Photo are resized for the web

DTP awareness month- Digestive Tract Paralysis

If Blogs where written on the paper you would see a whole bunch of different starts to this post scratched out or erased.

I haven't blogged ALL WEEK and wanted to blog something.

I could blog about my dogs.
My upcoming session at the beach.
What I ate this week.
I mean, pretty much anything.

Instead, I decided to write about something that not allot of people are aware of and it effects one of my long time friends.

And truthfully. I still don't know how to start. SOOO I'm going to take a few things that my friend has posted on FaceBook.

August is DTP awareness month.

DTP is Digestive Tract Paralysis . Below is a very informative link that explains it way better then I every could. I would say my cliff notes version but it might make you sad or gross you out. Basically one can not eat and feels sick all the time and have to live my treatments since at the moment there is no cure.

Here is one of the touching things my beautiful friend have said while promoting the awareness.

"What do you wish for? A new car? A bigger house? An iPad? I long for the most basic of human needs- the ability to eat normal food and sustain life without (tube feedings, TPN). I want to know what it is like to go a day with no pain and no nausea. I'd like to be able to hang out with my friends at social events and not feel awkward by not eating."

And lastly, here is a video that was put together to show a strong woman documenting her struggles.
